A Psychiatry Nurse Practitioner provides mental health and nursing care to patients with psychiatric disorders, medical organic brain disorders or substance abuse problems. Diagnoses mental illness, develops treatment plans and prescribes medications. Teaches patient's family about the patient's condition. Works at hospitals with dedicated mental health unit, fully dedicated psychiatric hospital or in independent practice working from nursing homes and physicians' offices.

Job Description

Psychiatric partial care program looking for a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner. Offering 1 day a week at 8 hours per shift with the option to increase the schedule as necessary. Hourly salary based on experience. Must be licensed with the State of New Jersey and hold your own professional malpractice insurance. Must have experience working with a diverse population that include co-occurring disorders. Duties involve client psychiatric care for both our IOP and Partial Care as described below.

Further clarification of duties:

Completion of psychiatric evaluation and reviews, including documentation.
Medication monitoring (involving prescribing medication and administering medication education).
Reviewing lab testing and signing off on team treatment plans.
Reviewing and signing off on other client related documents as necessary.
