Job Description

Nurse Practitioner Position Summary Provides care for children, infancy through adolescence, treated in collaboration with neurodevelopmental physicians of Developmental Pediatric Associates. Primary Position Responsibilities 1. Performs comprehensive history and physical examination. 2. Performs follow up medication evaluations. 3. Provides support, counseling and education to patient and family in regards to medication and diagnoses. 4. Promotes appropriate patient care. 5. Prescribes medications in accordance with the guidelines of Developmental Pediatric Associates (DPA). Work Contact Group (Internal/External) Pediatricians, HMC employees, patients, patients' families, pharmacies, insurance companies, other medical specialists. Schools - Child Study Teams, mental health providers, school nurses and New Jersey Division of Child Protection and Permanency. Reporting Relationships Reports to (position): Medical Director, Developmental Pediatric Associates Supervises (position(s):
Medical Assistant Qualifications Minimum Education:
Required:
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing • Certificate in Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Minimum Years of Experience (Amount, Type and Variation):
Required:
1 - 3 years experience in a pediatric practice preferred; will consider a new graduate
License, Registry or Certification :
Required:
Holds a current and valid New Jersey Registered Nurse License, along with National Certification as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Knowledge, Skills and/or
Abilities :
Required:
Good communication skills.
