Summary We are seeking a dedicated Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to provide high-quality medical care within our outpatient substance abuse treatment program. In this role, you will be the clinical cornerstone of our patient intake and stabilization process, conducting comprehensive assessments, managing detoxification protocols, and addressing the complex healthcare needs of patients. Working alongside a multidisciplinary team, you will play a pivotal role in stabilizing patients and fostering a supportive environment for long-term healing.

This position requires a full on-site presence to support our inpatient population; remote or hybrid arrangements are not available. Compensation & Pay Structure Daily rate of $400 - $500Responsibilities Comprehensive Clinical Evaluations:
Conduct in-depth psychiatric and medical assessments upon admission to determine medical stability and withdrawal severity.Diagnosis & Evidence-Based Treatment:
Manage complex substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions utilizing ASAM criteria.Pharmacological Management:
Prescribe and monitor psychotropic medications and Medications for Addiction Treatment, ensuring strict adherence to DEA and federal standards.Multidisciplinary Collaboration:
Partner with psychiatrists and therapists to design and adjust individualized, patient-centered treatment plans.Clinical Documentation:
Maintain precise, audit-ready documentation within the EHR to reflect all interventions and care transitions.Crisis Intervention:
Lead the medical response for patients experiencing acute psychological distress or high-risk withdrawal symptoms.Team Leadership:
Actively participate in clinical rounds and case reviews to optimize patient outcomes and relapse prevention.Competencies Addiction Medicine Expertise:
Proficient in the pharmacology of psychoactive substances and MAT (Buprenorphine, Naltrexone, etc.).Clinical Stabilization:
Expert ability to diagnose and treat acute intoxication and complex withdrawal syndromes (Alcohol, Opioids, Benzodiazepines).Dual-Diagnosis Management:
Skilled in treating co-occurring psychiatric disorders and medical conditions common in recovery (e.g., Depression, HIV, Hep C).Risk Mitigation:
Competent in suicide/relapse risk assessments and utilizing Motivational Interviewing.Care Coordination:
Strong communicator capable of interpreting diagnostic tests (UDS) and developing post-inpatient relapse prevention plans.Qualifications Licensure:
Active and unrestricted New Jersey APRN or PA license is required.Prescriptive Authority:
Valid DEA registrationSpecialization:
Board Certification as a PMHNP is ideal;FNP/PA-C
candidates with behavioral health experience will be considered.Clinical Experience:
Prior experience in outpatient substance abuse setting is strongly preferred.Technical Proficiency:
Previous experience with KIPU is a significant plus.Interpersonal Excellence:
