Job Description
The NICU Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant utilizes a patient-centered coordinated care model, demonstrating competencies in leadership, direct clinical practice, consultation/collaboration, coaching/guiding, research, and ethical decision-making. The APN works collaboratively with the practice/hospital team to assess, plan, and implement care for individuals with health and safety needs. Proficient in newborn resuscitation, intubation and stabilization, umbilical lines, PIV, arterial blood draw, ventilation management, needle aspiration and chest tubes, spinal tap, interpretation of x-rays, appropriate and efficient use of consultants NNP required or NNP eligible, PA should have completed a NICU fellowship.
