Monday-Friday 8:30 AM-5:00 PM •Provide call coverage remotely 1 weekday evening (Monday-Thursday) 5 pm to 8 am, and 1 weekend per month, Friday 5 pm to Monday 8 am.
JOB SUMMARY
Premier is seeking a Nurse Practitioner who aspires to practice urology. Nurse Practitioner will be responsible for seeing patients independently for office visits as well as under the guidance of a supervising physician. This role requires a high level of clinical expertise, the ability to manage a fast-paced environment, and the flexibility to take both weekday and weekend call shifts to support patient needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct thorough patient assessments, including history taking, physical exams, and diagnostic evaluations related to urological conditions (e.g., urinary tract infections, prostate issues, kidney stones, bladder disorders, etc.). Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with supervising urologists. Prescribe medications, perform minor procedures, and provide follow-up care for patients. Counsel and educate patients on urological health, preventive measures, and treatment options, ensuring they understand their conditions and treatment plans. Provide comprehensive care by taking weekday and weekend on-call shifts to address urgent and emergent urological issues. Respond promptly to calls for advice, triaging cases, and providing necessary interventions. Provide call coverage remotely 1 weekday evening (Monday-Thursday) 5pm to 8am, and 1 weekend per month, Friday 5pm to Monday 8am. Communicate clearly and effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team during on-call duties, offering remote consultations when appropriate or directing patients to the practice or emergency care if needed. Work closely with the urologists and healthcare team to manage patient care across a variety of conditions. Ensure accurate and timely documentation of patient interactions, treatment plans, and follow-up actions in the electronic health record (EHR). Communicate effectively with patients and their families, offering guidance, reassurance, and clear instructions. Educate patients on urological health, lifestyle modifications, preventive care, and managing chronic conditions (e.g., incontinence, erectile dysfunction, etc.). Provide counseling and support for patients undergoing urological surgeries or treatments, including pre- and post-operative care. Adhere to all practice protocols, clinical guidelines, and legal requirements related to patient care, privacy, and documentation. Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and the operational efficiency of the practice. Maintain accurate records for billing, coding, and insurance purposes, ensuring compliance with all healthcare regulations.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program; NYS licensed 1 - 5 years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
Prior experience in managing call coverage, including handling urgent and emergent patient concerns, is preferred.
BLS/ACLS
certification. Excellent clinical assessment, diagnostic, and procedural skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage complex patient interactions. Ability to work independently and make critical decisions in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment. Proficient in using electronic health records (EMR) and other medical technologies.
Pay Range:
$110,000 - $150,000 per year
