Bilingual Nurse Practitioner (Russian/English) A busy family physician's office in Rego Park, Queens, is seeking a compassionate and dependable Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our team. Russian and English is required to communicate effectively with our patients.Responsibilities:
Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients Perform physical examinations Order and interpret laboratory and diagnostic tests Prescribe medications and develop treatment plans Manage acute and chronic medical conditions Provide preventive care and patient education Maintain accurate electronic medical records Collaborate with the physician and office staffQualifications:
Current New York State Nurse Practitioner license Board certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner or Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner Current DEA registration and prescribing authority Fluent in both Russian and English Strong communication and patient-care skills Primary-care experience preferred New graduates will be considered Responsibilities Conduct thorough physical examinations and health assessments for patients of all ages, including pediatrics, geriatrics, and adults. Prescribe medications and treatment plans in accordance with state regulations and collaborative practice agreements. Manage acute and chronic conditions such as infectious diseases, diabetes, hypertension, and mental health issues. Perform procedures including suturing, IV insertion, catheterization, and basic wound care while adhering to sterile techniques. Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems like Epic or eClinicalWorks for accurate documentation of patient encounters and medical records. Collaborate closely with physicians, specialists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate comprehensive patient care. Provide health education and counseling on lifestyle modifications, medication adherence, preventive screenings, and chronic disease management. Skills Proven experience working with diverse patient populations across outpatient clinics, hospitals, or urgent care settings Strong knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, diagnostic evaluation techniques including sonography and laboratory specimen processing. Familiarity with CPT coding, ICD coding (ICD-9/10), HIPAA compliance standards for medical documentation and patient privacy. Excellent client communication skills to educate patients effectively on their health conditions and treatment options.
