09/02/2026 Job Description Job Description Full-time Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner sought for the Madison County Mental Health Department. An employee in this class is responsible for providing psychiatric nurse practitioner services with advanced knowledge of psychopharmacology and prescriptive authority for psychotropic medications for clients of the Madison County Mental Health Department and/or inmates at the Madison County Jail. The incumbent is also responsible for maintaining a patient caseload and participating as a team member in conferences to consult on diagnosis and treatment of clients of the Mental Health Clinic and/or inmates at the Madison County Jail. The work is performed under the administrative supervision of the Director of Community Mental Health Services. The incumbent does related work as required. This position is a Managerial/Confidential (M/C) position that includes a M/C benefit package. 2026
Hiring Salary:
$130,000/yr
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
:
Either:
(A) Possession of a current licensure and registration to practice as a registered professional nurse in the State of New York at the time of application and maintenance of said license and registration for the duration of appointment; AND (B) Possession of a current certification by the New York State Education Department in the Psychiatry specialty area to practice as a Nurse Practitioner. (C) Possession of a current certification (by a national certifying body that has established standards for Nurse Practitioners) by either the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners Certification Board (AANPCB) or the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) at time of appointment and for the duration of appointment.
