  • Nuvance Health is seeking a full time Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for our Employee Health Services Department located at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie, NY.
Employee Health/Occ Health spans all 7 hospitals. We service 16,000 employees and have contracts with multiple companies and school in for Occupational Health. It is a collegial environment with a dedicated team who puts the care of our most valuable asset, i.e. our employees first.
Job Responsibilities:
Provides medical care in an occupational health setting including acute care, follow-up care and medical surveillance examinations for employees in the Vassar Brothers Medical Center area:
  • Assesses and treats injuries & illnesses
  • Handles injury case management including development of plans to return employees to the workplace
  • Conducts post offer physical examinations.
  • Conducts periodic and medical surveillance examinations.
  • Orders and interprets diagnostic tests.
  • Communicates with employers regarding work status and suitability for employment.
  • Performs periodic case review to monitor quality of care.
  • Works closely with department manager and Medical Director to determine physician assistants' work schedules, patient flow patterns & other general duties.
  • Conducts ergonomic and safety work site evaluations.
  • Fulfills all compliance responsibilities related to the position
Job Requirements:
  • This position requires a minimum formal education and graduate of an approved PA Program or Master Degree, FNP, NY State NP/PA license, Federal DEA Registration and Current Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) or Board Certified Nurse Practitioner.
  • Prior experience in Occupational Medicine, Emergency Medicine or Urgent Care
  • ATLS, ACLS & BLS
    certification are required. ATLS training will be scheduled as necessary.
  • Hours are 7:30 am - 4 pm Monday - Friday.

Salary Range:
