- Nuvance Health is seeking a full time Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for our Employee Health Services Department located at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie, NY.
Job Responsibilities:
Provides medical care in an occupational health setting including acute care, follow-up care and medical surveillance examinations for employees in the Vassar Brothers Medical Center area:- Assesses and treats injuries & illnesses
- Handles injury case management including development of plans to return employees to the workplace
- Conducts post offer physical examinations.
- Conducts periodic and medical surveillance examinations.
- Orders and interprets diagnostic tests.
- Communicates with employers regarding work status and suitability for employment.
- Performs periodic case review to monitor quality of care.
- Works closely with department manager and Medical Director to determine physician assistants' work schedules, patient flow patterns & other general duties.
- Conducts ergonomic and safety work site evaluations.
- Fulfills all compliance responsibilities related to the position
Job Requirements:
- This position requires a minimum formal education and graduate of an approved PA Program or Master Degree, FNP, NY State NP/PA license, Federal DEA Registration and Current Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) or Board Certified Nurse Practitioner.
- Prior experience in Occupational Medicine, Emergency Medicine or Urgent Care
ATLS, ACLS & BLS
certification are required. ATLS training will be scheduled as necessary.- Hours are 7:30 am - 4 pm Monday - Friday.
