Primary Care Nurse Practitioner Monterey Medical - 3.0 Dayton, OH Job Details Temporary | Travel nursing | Full-time | Locum tenens | Contract | Per diem | Local contract $75 - $90 an hour 2 hours ago Benefits Health savings account Health insurance Dental insurance 401(k) Tuition reimbursement Employee assistance program Vision insurance 401(k) matching Professional development assistance Flexible schedule Life insurance Qualifications Direct patient care Nursing Certified Nurse Practitioner BLS Certification Primary care English Master's degree Nurse Practitioner (NP) DEA License Advanced practice provider MSN General practice Full Job Description Join us as a Primary Care Certified Nurse Practitioner at the Dayton VA Medical Center located in Dayton, OH .This is a contract/locum assignment with the Department of Veterans Affairs. •W-2 and 1099 employment options available: W-2: Access to full Monterey Medical employee benefits with lower overall pay rate. 1099: Higher overall pay rate in lieu of employee benefits.
Duties include:
Evaluation and treatment, including the ordering and interpretation of diagnostic studies, including laboratory, diagnostic imaging, and electrocardiographic examinations, and the ordering of medications. Discussion of end-of-life preferences/advanced care planning. Consultations with sub-specialists. Discharge including ensuring appropriate follow-up is arranged. Procedures including but not limited to abscess incision and drainage, fecal occult blood testing, etc. Attending staff meetings as required.
Schedule:
Full-time, 8A-4:30P Mon-Fri. Call rotation required evenings, weekends, and federal holidays.
Period of Performance:
12-month base 8/1/2026-7/31/2027 w/ one additional 12-month option available for a total of up to 2 years through 7/31/2028.
Qualifications:
Education. Master's degree in Nursing or equivalent minimum required. Certification. Current, full, and unrestricted license in one or more states. BC/BE by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners Certification Board (AANPCB) or American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) required. BLS or ACLS required. DEA and NPI required. Experience. 1-2 years of nursing experience in a Primary Care setting preferred.
English Language Proficiency:
In accordance with 38 U.S.C. 7402(f), no person shall serve in direct patient care positions unless they are proficient in basic written and spoken English. Able to pass a drug screen and background check. Subject to background/security investigation. Selected applicants will be required to complete an online onboarding process. Willingness to comply with Department of Veterans Affairs vaccination programs for seasonal influenza and
COVID-19.
Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959. Must be authorized to work in the United States.

What we do:
Monterey teams with general practice, specialists, and allied health practitioners nationwide to provide local coverage for examinees. We deliver a wide range of medical examination-only services to public sectors and the individuals they serve. Our clients include the Department of Veteran Affairs (VA), the Department of Labor, the Department of Defense, and more. Our provider network consists of over 700 providers in various medical specialties and degree types. They conduct diagnostic-only examination services on an as-needed basis. These services may take place in their private office, established clinics located across the country, or during travel opportunities for group screening events.
