Midwest Counseling Centers of Ohio is a locally owned mental health practice. The owner has over 35 years of experience in the field. MCCO offers a comprehensive mental health center with counseling, psychiatric providers, and wellness. We are looking for a dynamic practitioner who wants to be a part of a growing top rated practice in the Dayton community. This exciting position offers the opportunity to utilize advanced clinical skills in psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning within a collaborative environment. As a PMHNP, you will empower patients on their journey toward mental wellness. Duties Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations, including patient history, mental status examinations, and risk assessments to establish accurate diagnoses. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans incorporating psychopharmacology, therapy modalities, and other evidence-based interventions. Prescribe medications such as antidepressants, antipsychotics, mood stabilizers, and manage medication adjustments in accordance with state regulations and clinical guidelines. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care for patients. Provide patient education on mental health conditions, medication management, lifestyle modifications, and coping strategies to promote adherence and recovery. Maintain detailed and compliant medical documentation utilizing electronic health record (EHR) system. Skills Proven experience working with diverse populations across outpatient or inpatient settings. Strong knowledge of psychopharmacology principles and medication management protocols. Proficiency in electronic medical records. Excellent communication skills for effective patient counseling and interdisciplinary collaboration. Ability to perform comprehensive patient assessments including vital signs, mental status exams, and risk evaluations. Experience with crisis intervention techniques and triage procedures for urgent psychiatric needs. Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations including HIPAA compliance.
