Job Description
Nurse Practitioner - Full-time Position Summary We are looking for a licensed nurse practitioner to join our growing team of medical professionals. Your duties will include recording patients' medical histories, performing physical exams, administering diagnostic tests, and creating patient care plans. You will also prescribe treatments and observe patients' functioning over time.
The Nurse Practitioner will leverage progressive clinical skills to deliver care to patients in the hospital as well as the office. Time will be spent at office and hospital rounds in alternating weeks. This position offers rich and diverse experience in office and hospital settings!!! Responsibilities for Nurse Practitioner Peform physical examinations of patients to evaluate health and diagnose illnesses in office and hospital setting. Order and peform diagnostic tests, such as x-rays, CT, MRI and laboratory tests Determine, plan, and initiate appropriate treatment, and adjust treatment if necessary in collaboration with MD Prescribe and dispense medications Document medical information of patients and maintain electronic medical records Educate, instruct, and counsel patients and families on presenting health problems, treatment plans, and home care, and encourage and promote preventative health care and positive health behaviors Request consultation or referral with other health care providers, such as physicians and clinics Actively maintain knowledge of current medical research and trends, and support research projects Qualifications for Nurse Practitioner Graduate degree from an accredited nursing school, such as a Master of Science in nursing Must have a current license to practice as a nurse practitioner in the state of practice Must have the necessary specialty certification 5-7 years of clinical work experience preferred but will consider fresh graduates as well. Must be compassionate and personable Ability to communicate effectively with patients and other medical staff Good self-confidence, and ability to remain calm in stressful situations Good analytical and critical thinking skills Exceptionally active listening skills
