Job Description
Key Job Responsibilities Patient Care:
Perform physical exams, take medical histories, and provide treatment for acute illnesses (e.g., infections, rashes) and injuries (e.g., sprains, minor fractures, lacerations).
Diagnostics:
Order, perform, and interpret laboratory tests (e.g., strep, flu) and X-rays.
Procedures:
Perform minor surgical procedures, including wound closure, abscess incision and drainage, and foreign body removal.
Treatment Planning:
Prescribe medications, administer vaccinations, and provide patient education on follow-up care.
Documentation:
Accurately document patient visits, history, and treatment plans in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.
Workflow:
Triage patients to differentiate between urgent and emergency cases, ensuring efficient patient throughput
Skills:
Strong diagnostic skills, ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment, excellent communication, and proficiency in, or ability to learn, EMR systems. Valid Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license in the state of practice. Experience in urgent care preferred. Strong knowledge of physiology and acute pain management techniques. Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with children and their families.
