A Psychiatry Nurse Practitioner provides mental health and nursing care to patients with psychiatric disorders, medical organic brain disorders or substance abuse problems. Diagnoses mental illness, develops treatment plans and prescribes medications. Teaches patient's family about the patient's condition. Works at hospitals with dedicated mental health unit, fully dedicated psychiatric hospital or in independent practice working from nursing homes and physicians' offices.

https://www.geisingerbehavioral.com Position Details Qualifications The successful Nurse Practitioner candidate will work in collaboration with the physician and have a certificate of completion from an approved program for Nurse Practitioners or be eligible to hold national certification that allows the NP to work with the patient populations and location settings associated with this position. Must be eligible for licensure as a nurse practitioner in the state of PA. Preferred Minimum 1 year of clinical experience Experience using Epic Education Master's Degree-Nurse Practitioner (Required) Experience Certification(s) and License(s) Licensed Registered Nurse (Pennsylvania)- RN_State of PennsylvaniaRN_State of Pennsylvania; Certified Nurse Practitioner
