The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in psychiatric care, with expertise in medication management, patient assessment, and behavioral health interventions. This role offers an opportunity to work within a multidisciplinary team, delivering high-quality mental health care to a broad patient population, including individuals in outpatient, inpatient, and community-based environments. The successful applicant will demonstrate excellent clinical judgment, communication skills, and a commitment to patient-centered care. Duties Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans for patients across age groups, including children, geriatrics, and adults. Prescribe and monitor psychotropic medications, ensuring safe and effective medication management tailored to each patient's needs. Collaborate with physicians, therapists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate comprehensive behavioral health services. Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or eClinicalWorks for accurate documentation of patient encounters and treatment progress. Provide telehealth services to expand access to mental health care while maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations. Engage in clinical research initiatives related to psychiatric treatments or behavioral health interventions. Educate patients and their families on mental health conditions, medication adherence, and coping strategies. Participate in discharge planning, case management, and follow-up care to ensure continuity of treatment post-discharge or after outpatient visits. Qualifications Valid certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) with current licensure in the state of practice. Demonstrated experience working with diverse populations including children, geriatrics, or individuals with developmental disabilities. Proficiency in using EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Athenahealth for medical documentation and patient management. Knowledge of psychopharmacology principles and experience prescribing medications within scope of practice. Familiarity with telehealth platforms and delivering remote psychiatric services effectively. Experience managing patients with complex psychiatric conditions such as depression, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, or dementia-related illnesses. Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and confidentiality standards related to mental health care. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within multidisciplinary teams in various settings including hospitals, clinics, assisted living facilities, or nursing homes.
