If yes, then this job as a Mental Health Advanced Practice Registered Nurse OR Mental Health Physician Assistant with the Division of Correctional Health Services is the job for you!Job Responsibilities:
Provides direct and/or indirect patient care oriented toward improving or maintaining mental health symptoms and treating mental illness. Make diagnoses and decisions about management and treatment of patients. Assess patients, diagnose conditions, order tests (laboratory tests, etc), prescribe treatment, and may provide patient and family education. Coordinates clinical activities and follow-up. Discuss results, findings and/or recommendations with appropriate parties. Interpret diagnostic test results for deviations from normal. Maintains and updates patient charts, records, and information. Assesses client/patient needs. Develops and implements plans to meet those needs in an interdisciplinary setting. Recommends, advocates, and/or implements new and/or changes to existing policies and procedures, or regulations. Works collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team. Salary for the Mental Health Advanced Practice Registered Nurse is $58.14 Salary for the Mental Health Physician Assistant is $58.14Supplemental Information Nurse Practitioner/Clinical Nurse Specialist Supplemental Information:
Licensure as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in the State of Utah. Risks which require the use of special safety precautions and/or equipment, e.g., working around operating machines, working with contagious diseases or hazardous chemicals, etc. Work requires physical exertion. May require the ability to stand; walk over rough surfaces; bend, crouch, stoop, stretch, reach, lift moderately heavy items (up to 50 lbs.) in a recurring manner and/or for long periods of time.Physician Assistant Supplemental Information:
Licensure as a Physician Assistant- (1) Utah Code 58-70a-301(1) A license is required to engage in practice as a physician assistant (2) The division shall issue to a person who qualifies under this chapter a license in the classification of physician assistant.
Schedule:
Monday- Friday from 7:00 AM
- 3:00 PM with rotating weekend call responsibilities.

Current Advanced Practice Registered Nurse license in the State of Utah that is in good standing Certification from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) or Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) A Controlled Substance license and a DEA certification with no disciplinary action Ability to pass both a fingerprinting background check and drug screening Minimum Requirements as aPhysician Assistant:
Current Physician Assistant license in the State of Utah that is in good standing Experience in mental health A Controlled Substance license and a DEA certification with no disciplinary action Ability to pass both a fingerprinting background check and drug screening About the Role Location- 255 East 300 North Gunnison, Utah, 84634 United States Background Check Required
