Full Job Description Position Description:
We are seeking a compassionate and flexible Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP or FNP preferred) to join our growing behavioral health team. This role provides a unique opportunity to deliver care across multiple settings, including telehealth, and community-based care in Adult Family Living (AFL/AFH) facilities primarily. The ideal candidate is comfortable working with diverse populations, managing long-term psychiatric cases, and supporting patients with complex mental health and substance use needs. Key Responsibilities Provide psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, and medication management for a diverse patient population, primarily the aging and disabled. Conduct Adult Family Living facility visits for established patients, including those requiring ongoing, long-term care. Administer long-acting injectable medications (e.g., Invega and similar treatments) and monitor patient response. Manage a current caseload of long-term patients, including individuals supported through DSHS services who require community-based care. Delivery care via a hybrid model includes in-office visits, Adult living facilities and telehealth appointments. Collaborate with therapists to support counseling clients who may require psychiatric evaluation and medication management. Participate in the development and delivery of a new outpatient Substance Use Disorder (SUD) treatment program, primarily based in the office setting. Maintain accurate, timely documentation and adhere to all clinical, legal, and ethical standards. Coordinate care with interdisciplinary team members, caregivers, and community partners. Experience Active and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license (PMHNP or
FNP/ARNP
with psychiatric experience preferred). DEA license and prescriptive authority in Washington state. Experience in psychiatric medication management across a range of diagnoses. Comfort providing care in community settings, including patient homes and residential facilities. Experience with or willingness to learn administration of long-acting injectable antipsychotics (e.g., Invega). Interest or experience in Substance Use Disorder treatment in outpatient settings. Strong collaboration and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior experience working with DSHS or similar publicly supported patient populations. Background in community mental health or integrated behavioral health settings. Experience working alongside therapists in a multidisciplinary environment.
Work Environment & Schedule:
Hybrid role: in-office, telehealth, and field-based (AFH/ALF visits). Flexible scheduling with a mix of independent and team-based work. Opportunities for growth as new programs (including SUD services) expand.
