Job Description

Seeking a Nurse Practitioner who will work collaboratively with registered dietitian, and medical providers, to provide comprehensive care to gastroenterology patients and patients seeking to lose weight and improve their health. The Nurse Practitioner will perform medical consultations, develop treatment plan, and provide follow-up care. Ensure weight loss patients receive personalized and effective weight management solutions. Daytime in-patient rounds.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Conduct physical examinations and assess the health status of gastroenterology patients and patients seeking weight loss treatment. Order and interpret lab results when appropriate Prescribe disease specific medications for gastroenterology patients Manage FDA-approved obesity medications for patients. Develop and implement medical management plans for patients to include nutritional counseling for weight loss patients Provide education and counseling on weight management strategies, disease prevention, and health promotion to patients. Monitor and adjust treatment plans based on patient progress and response to interventions. Maintain accurate and detailed medical records of patients' treatment plans and progress. Stay abreast of the latest developments in diagnosis and treatment of gastric diseases, weight management, nutrition, and healthy lifestyles Conduct daily in-patient rounds to assess, diagnose, and manage acute and chronic conditions, ensuring high-quality continuity of care.
Candidate Requirements and Skills:
Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner in MD. Board certification in family practice and/or obesity medicine is preferred. Strong clinical skills with the ability to assess, diagnose, and treat medical disease, obesity and related conditions. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on motivating and educating patients. Computer literacy and excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential. Spanish speaking a plus Flexible work from home options available.
