Job Description

Per Diem Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner Bishop Health Portland Evening hours mostly available Hourly rate $65 to $80 depending on experience South Portland, ME (some remote work may be available) About Us Part of the Guardian Recovery network of facilities, Bishop Health is a private, outpatient mental health program dedicated to providing compassionate and comprehensive care to individuals in our community. Our mission is to empower individuals on their journey toward healing and well-being. We foster a collaborative, supportive, and client-focused environment where our team members can make a meaningful impact every day. We are currently seeking a skilled Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to join our roster of per diem medical providers here at Bishop Health Portland. As this provider will be supporting an evening mental health program, candidates must be available for part-time hours between 5:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. Ideal candidates will be available for in-person care at our facility in South Portland, Maine. Remote hours may be accommodated if necessary on an individual basis. Join Our Team As a Nurse Practitioner in our mental health outpatient programs, you will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to provide mental health care, monitor patient health, and provide comprehensive medical care in a structured and supportive environment.
Candidate Requirements:
Master's or Doctoral degree in nursing with certification as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) is required. Active and unencumbered licensure as a Nurse Practitioner in the State of Maine is required. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Current certifications in CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) and BLS (Basic Life Support) are required. Commitment to promoting a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Job Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive health assessments, including evaluations related to mental health. Develop and manage individualized treatment plans to support patients in their mental health journeys. Prescribe and monitor medications. Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members, including clinical therapists, counselors, and case managers, to ensure continuity of care. Educate patients on self-care and long-term wellness strategies. Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary, documenting all interactions thoroughly. Provide crisis support and guidance to patients, helping them navigate their wellness. Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, including HIPAA, to protect patient confidentiality. Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and quality improvement initiatives. Perform other duties as assigned.
Pay:
$65.00 to $80.00 per hour depending on experience (this is membership on a per-diem roster with no benefits offered).
Schedule:
Per diem, with most hours being available in the evenings from 5pm to 9pm.
