A Nurse Practitioner provides primary care and nursing care to patients. Performs physical exams, orders diagnostic tests, and provides medications. Works in a physician's office or other healthcare facility, under the direction of a physician. Performs work similar to that of a physician assistant but has different medical training and degree.
We are a well-established clinic with a strong, collaborative team seeking a Wound Care Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA). This role is ideal for a compassionate, patient-focused provider who delivers high-quality wound care while ensuring an excellent patient experience. The NP/PA specializes in assessing, diagnosing, and treating acute and chronic wounds, including pressure ulcers, diabetic ulcers, and surgical wounds. Responsibilities include performing debridement, applying advanced dressings, ordering diagnostics, prescribing medications, and developing individualized care plans to promote healing and prevent infection. Strong communication skills, clinical judgment, and comfort with technology are essential.
Responsibilities:
Assess, diagnose, and treat acute and chronic wounds Develop and manage individualized wound care treatment plans Perform wound debridement and apply advanced wound dressings Order and interpret diagnostic tests Prescribe medications and treatments within scope of practice Monitor wound healing progress and adjust care plans as needed Document care accurately in the EMR Obtain vital signs and review patient medical histories Educate patients and families on wound care, prevention, and treatment Prepare patient charts prior to visits Conduct patient outreach and follow-up Schedule patients due for screenings or follow-up care Collaborate with front and back office staff to ensure efficient clinic operations Deliver compassionate, patient-centered care with a focus on patient satisfaction
Qualifications:
Required:
Active Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) license Ability to reliably commute to or relocate to Tucson, AZ Strong computer skills
Preferred:
Wound care experience in outpatient, inpatient, or long-term care settings Experience performing debridement and advanced wound management EMR system experience (1 year preferred)
BLS Certification Skills:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Strong clinical decision-making ability Compassionate, patient-focused approach Strong organizational and multitasking skills Team-oriented and dependable
