Part-Time/Contracted (Minimum One Day Per Week) with Opportunity for Additional Hours Position Summary We are seeking a compassionate, experienced, and licensed Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) to join our multidisciplinary outpatient behavioral health and substance use disorder treatment team. The PMHNP will provide comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, medication management, diagnostic assessments, and ongoing psychiatric care to adolescents and/or adults with mental health and co-occurring substance use disorders. The ideal candidate is committed to evidence-based, patient-centered care and thrives in a collaborative outpatient environment. Essential Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and diagnostic assessments. Develop individualized treatment plans based on clinical assessment and evidence-based practices. Provide medication management services and monitor treatment response. Diagnose and treat a broad range of psychiatric and co-occurring substance use disorders. Prescribe medications in accordance with New Jersey law and DEA regulations. Order and interpret appropriate laboratory tests and diagnostic studies. Maintain timely, accurate, and compliant electronic medical records. Collaborate with therapists, counselors, case managers, nursing staff, primary care providers, and other members of the multidisciplinary treatment team. Participate in case conferences, treatment planning meetings, and quality improvement initiatives. Provide patient and family education regarding diagnoses, medications, treatment options, and recovery planning. Ensure compliance with all applicable federal and New Jersey regulations, including standards governing outpatient mental health and substance use disorder treatment programs. Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and applicable state regulations. Minimum Qualifications Current, unrestricted New Jersey Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) license . Current certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) . Active and unrestricted New Jersey Controlled Dangerous Substance (CDS) registration . Active DEA registration with authority to prescribe Schedule II-V controlled substances, as applicable. Current collaborative practice agreement, if required under New Jersey law and organizational policy. Current BLS certification preferred. Excellent clinical assessment, diagnostic, communication, and documentation skills. Experience treating individuals with mental health and substance use disorders preferred. Experience with electronic health records (EHR).
Employment Requirements Candidates must:
Possess a valid and unrestricted New Jersey APN license. Maintain an active DEA registration and New Jersey CDS registration. Successfully pass a criminal background check. Successfully pass a pre-employment urine drug screening. Be eligible to work in the United States. Maintain all required professional licenses, certifications, and continuing education. Schedule Available to work a minimum of one day per week . Provide scheduled psychiatric evaluations and medication management appointments. Additional clinic days may be available based on provider availability and patient volume. Preferred Qualifications Experience in outpatient behavioral health. Experience treating co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders. Familiarity with MAT, including buprenorphine prescribing, is preferred.
