We are seeking a psychiatric NP who is enthusiastic, open-minded, and collaborative—and interested in growing with a practice rather than simply filling shifts. This position starts part-time with a clear opportunity to transition to full-time.
Position Overview Hybrid role:
in-person and virtual Part-time to start, with growth potential Child and adult outpatient psychiatry 1099 position, split fee model: 50/50 for the first 90 days, then 60/40 Protocol/Collaborative Physician is paid by the practice Who We're Looking For Someone who enjoys learning, is open-minded, enjoys collaborating, and is willing to adopt the standards of the practice A self-starter willing to network and actively build their patient panel Comfortable with seeing children (age 10 and up and adults) We are looking for someone who is open to starting with a decreased work load and building it up over time Requirements PMHNP certification with active NP license Minimum 1 year of psychiatric experience as a PMHNP in the outpatient setting Active DEA license Active Malpractice insurance, 1 million/3 million aggregate required Active Florida license and certifications up to date Comfortable providing both in-person and virtual care Duties Conduct thorough psychiatric assessments, including patient history, mental status examinations, and physiological evaluations to inform diagnosis and treatment plans. Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications, ensuring safe administration and monitoring for efficacy and side effects. Provide psychotherapy sessions utilizing evidence-based techniques tailored to individual patient needs. Collaborate with psychiatrists, primary care providers, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate comprehensive treatment strategies. Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions, medication management, and coping strategies to support recovery and resilience. Maintain accurate medical documentation within electronic health record (EHR) systems and adhering to HIPAA regulations. Skills Strong knowledge of psychopharmacology principles and experience prescribing medications for diverse psychiatric disorders. Excellent patient assessment skills with the ability to evaluate complex behavioral health cases across age groups including pediatrics, geriatrics, and adolescents. Familiarity with telehealth platforms to deliver remote psychiatric care effectively Critical care experience or hospital medicine background is advantageous for managing acute psychiatric episodes in inpatient settings. Knowledge of CPT coding for billing purposes related to psychiatric services; understanding of ICD coding (ICD-10) is essential for accurate documentation.
