Strive for continuous improvement at all levels. Maryland Health Services is searching for a motivated and compassionate PMHNP for our Outpatient Mental Health Center (OMHC) in Baltimore County, MD. This position is primarily designed as a hybrid role, blending remote and in-person responsibilities to support flexibility and efficiency.Position Summary :
The PMHNP works both independently and as part of a health care team to diagnose and treats acute, episodic, or chronic mental/behavioral illness. The PMHNP reviews, monitors, and manages medical components of the clinic including prescription of medication, by utilizing evidence-based practices.Responsibilities:
- Analyzes and interprets patients' histories, symptoms, physical findings, or diagnostic information to develop appropriate diagnoses.
- Diagnoses or treats acute mental/behavioral health care problems
- Recommends diagnostic or therapeutic interventions
- Prescribe medications
- Educates patients about self-management of acute or chronic illnesses
- Describe treatments and/or prescribe medications to treat mental, emotional, or behavioral disorders in children, adolescents, and adults
- Design individualized care plans, using a variety of treatments
- Gather and maintain client information and records, including social or medical history obtained from patients, relatives, or other professionals
- Review and evaluate treatment procedures and outcomes of other psychiatric or medical professionals
- Ensure compliance of all diagnostic and medication assessments as appropriate
- Maintain compliance with all federal and state regulations and standards, including COMAR regulations.
- Ensure that all minor clients have comprehensive bio-psycho-social assessment that addresses somatic concerns compliant with COMAR regulations
- Ensure compliance to treatment documentation procedure, outcomes, and treatment tracking reports for the OMHC
- Provide clinical documentation and assure that all filing of clinical information and submission of billing information is done accurately and within the time frame required.
- Utilize individualized treatment tracking outcomes when assessing clinical service delivery
- And other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
- Licensed as a Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner-Psychiatric Mental Health (CRNP-PMH) with the state of Maryland's Board of Nursing
- Maryland CDS registration
- DEA certificate
- Registered as a Maryland Medicaid provider - at minimum as an ORP provider
- A minimum of one year treating mental/behavioral health among underserved population
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point), electronic health records, and the use of computers/laptops
- Malpractice insurance
Preferred Qualifications :
- Experience working in an outpatient psychiatric setting
- Experience with individuals who are diagnosed with serious and persistent mental illness
