Psychiatry Nurse Practitioner

Job Overview We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to join our healthcare team. In this role, you will provide comprehensive mental health care to patients. Your expertise in psychiatric care will play a crucial role in improving the quality of life for our patients. Responsibilities Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations and assessments of patients. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient needs. Prescribe medications and monitor their effectiveness while managing potential side effects. Provide psychotherapy and counseling to patients and their families. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care and ensure comprehensive treatment. Maintain accurate medical documentation in compliance with healthcare regulations. Educate patients and families on mental health conditions, treatment options, and coping strategies. Participate in discharge planning to ensure continuity of care post-treatment. Stay updated on the latest research and advancements in psychiatric care. Requirements Master's degree in Nursing with a specialization in Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) or equivalent. Current NY state licensure as a Nurse Practitioner with certification in psychiatric nursing. 2 years experiense working as an independent psychiatric Nurse Practitioner Experience working with treatment resistant depression preferred. Familiarity with medical documentation practices and standards. Prior enrollment with major insurance companies is a plus. Experience or knowledge in family medicine is advantageous. Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment. Commitment to providing compassionate care to diverse patient populations.
