Description Job Summary Under indirect supervision, manages women's health care, focusing particularly on pregnancy, childbirth, the post-partum period, care of the newborn, and the family planning and gynecologic needs of women. Practice within the health care system and perform consultation, collaborative management, Practices autonomously and in collaboration with other health care professionals to treat and manage patient's health problems and serve in various settings as researchers, consultants, and patient advocates for individuals, families, groups, and communities. Performs comprehensive assessments, diagnoses, and manages illness and disease. This position is responsible for 1 shift, 8 hours/day, 5 days per week. incumbents are subject to overtime and call back as required. Performs other duties as assigned. Responsibilities Develops a plan of care within scope of practice of the nurse practitioner utilizing written protocols to ensure quality patient care. Uses prescriptive authority, procedures, referrals, treatments, and theories in accordance with state/federal laws and regulations. Enhances quality and effectiveness of nursing practice. Interacts with and contributes to the professional development of peers and colleagues. Supports life long learning. Completes assigned goals. Specifications Experience Minimum Required 1 year clinical experience functioning in the nurse mid-wife role. Preferred/Desired Education Minimum Required Either a Masters or Doctoral level as a nurse practitioner. Preferred/Desired Training Minimum Required Preferred/Desired Special Skills Minimum Required Computer literate. CPR/BLS Preferred/Desired Licensure Hold current certification by a national certifying body recognized by the Board of Nursing Current license by the state they practice. Eligible for or have certificate of fitness/prescription privileges. Minimum Required Preferred/Desired
