Job Description

POSITION PURPOSE
Provides health care services to patients under the direction and responsibility of a Physician.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Examines patient, performs comprehensive physical examination, and compiles patient medical data, including health history and results of physical examination. Administers or orders diagnostic tests, such as x-ray, electrocardiogram, and laboratory tests, and interprets test results for deviations from normal. Performs therapeutic procedures such as injections, immunizations, suturing and wound care, and manages infections. Develops and implements patient management plans, records progress notes, and assists in provision of continuity of care. Instructs and counsels patients regarding compliance with prescribed therapeutic regimen, normal growth and development, family planning, emotional problems of daily living, and health maintenance. Follows up on patients' messages, prescription refills, and test results for themselves and the doctors to give a timely response to the patient. This job supervises Clinic personnel in all delegated or directive medical care duties.
QUALIFICATIONS & EDUCATION
Current Texas Licensure as a Registered Nurse. Current Texas Licensure as an APRN-NP, and specialty certification as required by department. Basic Life Support (BLS) Certified within 30 days of hire. Master's in nursing as NP or Master's degree in Nursing with completion of a post-master Nurse Practitioner Certification Program.
