In this vital role, you will provide expert psychiatric care, including assessment, diagnosis, medication management, psychotherapy, and treatment planning for patients across diverse populations. We prefer candidates who are dual-certified as Family Nurse Practitioners (FNP) and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioners (PMHNP) , as this combination supports a comprehensive, holistic approach to patient care. However, qualified PMHNP candidates are encouraged to apply. This position offers flexible scheduling with both in-person and virtual/telehealth visits and is structured as a 1099 independent contractor opportunity . Candidates with approximately two years of Nurse Practitioner experience are preferred; however, new graduate PMHNPs will be considered based on clinical preparation, certification, and overall qualifications. Duties Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and mental health assessments for patients of all ages, including children and geriatrics Diagnose and develop individualized, evidence-based treatment plans Prescribe and manage psychiatric medications in accordance with state regulations and applicable practice requirements Monitor medication effectiveness, adherence, and potential adverse effects Provide psychotherapy, including individual, group, or family therapy as appropriate Collaborate closely with physicians, social workers, case managers, and other healthcare providers to develop integrated treatment strategies Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic, eClinicalWorks, Cerner, or Athenahealth to document patient encounters accurately and efficiently Provide both in-person and telehealth services to expand access to mental health care Educate patients and their families regarding mental health conditions, treatment options, medications, and wellness strategies Participate in crisis intervention, triage, and coordination of higher levels of care when clinically indicated Maintain compliance with HIPAA and all applicable federal and state regulations Requirements Valid state licensure as a Nurse Practitioner with certification in Psychiatric Mental Health (PMHNP-BC or equivalent) Dual
