A Psychiatry Nurse Practitioner provides mental health and nursing care to patients with psychiatric disorders, medical organic brain disorders or substance abuse problems. Diagnoses mental illness, develops treatment plans and prescribes medications. Teaches patient's family about the patient's condition. Works at hospitals with dedicated mental health unit, fully dedicated psychiatric hospital or in independent practice working from nursing homes and physicians' offices.

Job Description
FNP/PMHNP
certification is strongly preferred Approximately 2 years of Nurse Practitioner experience preferred New graduate PMHNPs will be considered Experience working with behavioral health populations, including children, geriatrics, or individuals with developmental disabilities, is preferred Strong knowledge of psychopharmacology, medication management, and monitoring Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems Experience with crisis intervention, triage assessments, and acute care settings is preferred Ability to perform appropriate physical examinations related to mental health assessments and coordinate necessary diagnostic evaluations Strong communication, clinical judgment, and interpersonal skills Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and commitment to patient confidentiality Ability to provide safe, compassionate, culturally responsive, and trauma-informed care Ability to provide services independently while collaborating effectively with the healthcare team Schedule & Work Arrangement 1099 Independent Contractor position Flexible hours and scheduling In-person and virtual/telehealth visits available Opportunity to develop a schedule that supports both patient access and provider work-life balance Clinical autonomy within the scope of licensure and applicable regulations Preferred Qualifications Preference may be given to candidates with: DualFNP/PMHNP
certification Bilingual English/Spanish preferred Two or more years of NP clinical experience Telehealth experience Experience with CPT coding and medical billing Trauma-informed care training or Level I/II trauma center experience Substance use disorder treatment experience Hospice and palliative medicine experience Critical care, ICU, or emergency medicine experience Medical-surgical nursing or internal medicine background Experience caring for medically complex patients Experience working with pediatric, geriatric, or developmental-disability populations Why Join Us?
