Position Summary
NextCare is seeking a Full-Time Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our urgent care team at our Nassau Bay clinic in Houston, TX.
This role is a great fit for an experienced APP who enjoys variety, clinical autonomy, and a fast-paced environment while still having the support of an established urgent care organization.
Our full-time providers typically work three 12-hour shifts per week, giving you more days off than days worked. There are no after-hours inboxes or patient follow-up responsibilities, and schedules are released in advance to help providers plan around life outside of work.
You'll care for patients of all ages with a broad range of acute illnesses, injuries, and occupational health needs while working alongside an experienced clinical team and accessible medical leadership.
What You'll Do Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients of all ages in an urgent care setting
Manage acute illnesses, minor injuries, and occupational health visits
Order and interpret diagnostic studies, including labs and imaging
Perform common urgent care procedures, including suturing, wound care, splinting, and incision and drainage
Provide clear diagnoses, treatment plans, and discharge instructions
Document patient care accurately and efficiently in the EHR
Maintain productivity appropriate for a fast-paced urgent care setting
Work collaboratively with clinic staff and medical leadership
Practice in alignment with NextCare clinical standards and values Qualifications Licensed Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in Texas
Minimum of 1 year of post-graduate clinical experience required
Urgent care, emergency medicine, or other high-volume outpatient experience strongly preferred
NP candidates must be certified through ANCC or AANP as a Family Nurse Practitioner
PA candidates must maintain active NCCPA certification
Active DEA license or ability to obtain
Active BLS certification
Comfortable treating patients across the lifespan
Comfortable practicing independently within scope
Strong EHR and documentation skills
Willingness to work rotating weekends and holidays
DOT certification or willingness to obtain; applicable certification fees are covered Benefits
