About the Role We are seeking a full-time Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, Board Certified (PMHNP-BC) to serve as the primary medication management provider for adolescent clients (ages 12-17) enrolled in our PHP program. This role is central to our integrated care model — working alongside therapists, case managers, and clinical leadership to deliver evidence-based, client-centered psychiatric care. This position may require services at both our Bluffdale, Utah (Salt Lake County) and Layton, Utah (Davis County) locations. Key Responsibilities Conduct psychiatric evaluations and medication assessments for newly enrolled PHP clients. Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications in accordance with evidence-based practice and applicable Utah APRN scope of practice. Collaborate with therapists, case managers, and the broader treatment team in multidisciplinary team meetings and case consultations. Provide medication education and psychoeducation to clients and their families and caregivers. Monitor client response to medications, adjust treatment plans as clinically indicated, and document all encounters accurately and in a timely manner. Conduct risk assessments and provide clinical consultation during crisis situations. Maintain compliance with all documentation requirements, including agency policy, Utah DOPL standards, and applicable state and federal regulations (including DEA and Utah Controlled Substance License requirements). Participate in quality improvement initiatives and support a culture of clinical excellence. Qualifications & Requirements Master's or doctoral degree in nursing with a psychiatric-mental health focus (MSN, DNP, or PhD). Current, active
PMHNP-BC
credential through the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). Current, unrestricted APRN license issued by the Utah Division of Professional Licensing (DOPL). Active Utah Controlled Substance License (CSL) and DEA Registration, or eligibility and commitment to obtain prior to start date. Experience working with adolescents in behavioral health, mental health, or substance use treatment settings strongly preferred. Familiarity with PHP/IOP levels of care preferred. Ability to work across two clinic locations (Bluffdale and Layton). Strong skills in clinical documentation, team communication, and family engagement. Commitment to trauma-informed, strengths-based, and culturally responsive care.
