Job Description
The Vein Company is an independent medical practice specializing in the comprehensive treatment of venous disease. Our growing practice seeking to add a dynamic Nurse Practitioner or a Physician Assistant to support the opening of our newest clinic in Norton, VA.
Position Summary:
Under supervision of a Board Certified Physician, the Advanced Practice Provider performs a variety of functions and technical procedures necessary for assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up care. The PA/NP will perform patient histories and physical examinations. Initiates, documents and communicates the plan of care. Orders and interprets for laboratory work and diagnostic tests. Interprets laboratory and test results. PA/NP will educate patients on pre-op and post-operative instructions. The PA/NP will have the opportunity to learn, assist and perform the a full gamete of vein and vascular out-patient procedures (i.e. sclerotherapy, phlebectomy).Responsibilities and Duties:
Conducts physical examinations; develops comprehensive and problem-oriented patient history; formulates and implements appropriate diagnostic and/or therapeutic plans and procedures; recognizes cues to change in patient status; demonstrates and integrates information to arrive at the correct assessment of problems. Performs procedures as allowed by the scope of practice per discipline. Works autonomously or in collaboration with other care team providers to provide exceptional patient care. Understands and follows the professional code of ethics, organizational policies, and structure. Takes direction from supervising physician as assigned. Completes records in adequate professional detail in a timely manner.. Maintains current knowledge by completing continuing medical education (CME) requirements as necessary. Ensures safe care to patients, adhering to policies, procedures, and standards within budgetary specifications, including time management, supply management, productivity, and accuracy of practice Performs other duties as requiredQualifications and Skills:
Completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program or Physician Assistant program. Currently licensed as an advanced practice nurse in the state of Tennessee by the Tennessee Board of Nursing and certified as a Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or equivalent body, or Certified as a Physician's Assistant by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA). Licensed as appropriate in the state of Tennessee and/or Virginia. Requires at least five years of direct experience as a midlevel practitioner in one or more high acuity clinical specialties or in a high volume medical practice. Experience in an OR setting a plus. BLS or ACLS and Healthcare Provider certifications preferred.Job Type:
