LOCUMS Urgent Care Nurse Practitioner (NP) / Physician Assistant (PA)
This is an excellent opportunity for a provider looking for a consistent 3-day-per-week schedule, no call, and the potential to transition from locum to permanent employment if interested! Why Consider This Opportunity? Excellent hourly rate Consistent 3 shifts/week- Flexible scheduling 7 days/week to choose 12+ hour shifts No call 100% outpatient urgent care Multiple Richmond-area locations to choose Epic EMR Patient population from birth through geriatrics Ongoing need with potential for locum-to-perm Start as soon as credentialing is completed Schedule Clinics are open 7 days a week from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM Providers will work approximately 3 shifts per week, with shifts lasting 12+ hours depending on patient volume The patient population includes pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients, providing a diverse urgent care practice environment. Higher-acuity or emergent cases are stabilized as appropriate and referred or transferred to the emergency department or other appropriate level of care. Clinical Responsibilities The ideal provider will be comfortable independently managing a broad range of urgent care conditions and procedures, including: Laceration repair - simple, intermediate, and complex Suturing and stapling Incision and drainage (I&D), including packing Foreign body removal Minor burn management Skin lesion care Orthopedic injury stabilization Splinting and casting Joint reductions EKG evaluation X-ray interpretation Point-of-care testing and laboratory interpretation Rapid strep, flu, COVID-19, and RSV testing Urinalysis and blood glucose testing Epistaxis management, including nasal packing and silver nitrate cautery Cerumen impaction removal Nebulizer treatments Initial emergency stabilization and airway support Requirements Current NP or PA license eligible to practice in Virginia Urgent care, emergency medicine, family medicine, or similar clinical experience preferred Comfortable treating patients across the lifespan Ability to work independently in a fast-paced urgent care environment Comfortable seeing a high-volume patient population Experience with Epic preferred For providers who are interested in a long-term position, this assignment offers the potential to transition from locum to permanent employment.
