ASAP Shift:
Mon-Fri — either 5×8-hour or 4×10-hour shifts Required credentials: Active Virginia nursing license NC license DEA registration BLS and ACLS certifications Primary responsibilities: Independently perform comprehensive physical exams and preventive health services for incarcerated patients. Assess health problems, develop and implement evidence-based care plans, and maintain accurate medical records. Respond to and initiate care for medical emergencies within the facility. Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests and procedures. Prescribe medications, including controlled substances, and medical devices in accordance with current regulations. Provide patient education and training to healthcare and correctional staff as needed. Consult with physicians when appropriate and carry out additional duties assigned by the facility.
Scope of contact:
Direct patient care contacts; limited physician contact for consultation.
