ASAP About the Position Salem, Virginia Nurse Practitioner - Emergency Medicine Travel Opportunity High-acuity patient care in the emergency department | Confirmed day and night shifts | Long-term locum assignment Rhino Medical is leading the charge seeking Virginia-licensed Nurse Practitioners for a two-week locum tenens opportunity at a regional acute-care hospital in Salem, Virginia. This role involves delivering high-acuity emergent patient assessments and treatments within a busy emergency department supporting 24/7 coverage, with scheduled shifts including days, nights, and weekends. Opportunity Highlights Emergency Medicine Nurse Practitioner locum tenens Starting ASAP Approximately 45,000 annual ED visits 40-hour MD/DO and 48-hour NP/PA weekly staffing Confirmed shifts supporting 6A-2P, 11A-11P, 2P-10P, 10P-6A, and 11A-11P Acute-care hospital setting with established protocols Recent ED experience required No overnight or ultraspecialized procedures Schedule Details Day, night, and weekend shifts supported Specific shift times confirmed during onboarding Ongoing coverage with flexible scheduling options Clinical Scope High-acuity emergent patient assessments and treatments Trauma and emergent case management within protocols Evaluation, stabilization, and disposition of patients Documentation in electronic medical records Practice Environment This opportunity is based at a regional acute-care hospital serving a broad community. Providers will work alongside experienced ED staff, nursing teams, and support personnel in a fast-paced environment designed for efficient patient flow and collaborative care delivery. The hospital manages approximately 45,000 annual ED visits, with staffing including 40-hour MD/DO and 48-hour NP/PA coverage.
