- $189,172 (Based on experience and achieving bonus compensation metrics per our Behavioral Health Compensation Plan) Job Summary The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner is responsible for providing integrated consultation with patients, as well as with behavioral health and medical colleagues, and direct patient care including psychiatric diagnostic evaluation, psychiatric medication services, and other preventive, educational, and therapeutic behavioral health services.
Education:
Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing. Successful completion of an accredited Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP) program with emphasis in psychiatric care (Nurse Practitioner Certificate or Master's Degree). 2.Certification/Licensure:
Current Washington State Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP) license with prescriptive privileges or eligibility to obtain licensure. Valid DEA Controlled Substance Registration Certification. ANCC certification as a "Clinical Specialist in Adult Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing" or "Adult Psychiatric and Mental Health NP" or "Family Mental Health NP" preferred. Basic Life Support (BLS) required. ACLS or ATLS may be used to substitute for BLS. All Providers must be eligible for enrollment in Medicare and must not be currently opted out of the Medicare program 3.Experience:
Two (2) years of experience as a practicing Nurse Practitioner in a clinical setting. Two (2) years experience in providing Psychiatric/Behavioral Health Care to mentally ill individuals preferred. Previous training and experience in community primary health care preferred. Experience working with low income, multi-ethnic populations. 4.Language Skills:
English required. 5.Essential Technical/Motor Skills:
Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing. Ability to write clear, concise and accurately. Knowledge of computer applications and equipment related to work. Must have basic computer and keyboarding skills and have the ability to enter data within company's computer/software system; must demonstrate manual dexterity. 6.Interpersonal Skills:
Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with other staff and management and with a wide range of consumers and constituencies and members of the public in a diverse community. Demonstrated skill in developing and maintaining productive work teams. Ability to work in a fast paced environment under stressful situations. Ability to work with and/or around persons who are chronically mentally ill. Skilled in interpersonal relationships. Ability to work effectively in a community health setting utilizing physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and support staff. An awareness and appreciation for both the health and socioeconomic needs of a low-income, underserved population. 7.Essential Physical Requirements:
This job is performed mostly in a typical inside, office environment. Essential physical requirements of this job include: light physical effort; repetitive motions of wrists, hands, and/or fingers; standing, walking, lifting, reaching, kneeling, bending, stooping, pushing, and pulling; frequent sitting; lifting and/or moving items weighing up to 20 pounds; ability to read forms and computer screens and to read correspondence and other documents. 8.Essential Mental Abilities:
Essential mental abilities include: knowledge, background and interest appropriate to providing sensitive, professional, direct support to mentally ill clients; ability to exercise sound independent judgment; ability to analyze problems and develop situation appropriate responses to consumer issues; ability to make decisions in line with state and federal regulations; ability to read, comprehend, and analyze documents, regulations, and policies; ability to prepare and submit complete and succinct documents necessary to the job. Knowledge of current psychotropic medications and their uses. Knowledge of federal and state standards for clinical practice. 9.Essential Sensory Requirements:
Essential sensory requirements include the ability to: read computer keyboard, monitor, and documents; prepare and analyze documents; read extensively; see, recognize, and assess non-verbal behaviors of consumers as part of the intake process; hear, recognize, and assess verbal presentations of consumers; receive and convey detailed information orally, by telephone and in person; convey accurate and detailed instructions by speaking to others in person and by telephone. Must be able to visually distinguish correct colors. 10. Exposure toHazards:
