Job Description
Position Summary:
The Medical College of Wisconsin's Department of Surgery, Division of Transplant Surgery is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to provide specialty medical care within the Transplant Surgery service. This position provides a broad range of services to patient of the Froedtert and the Medical College of Wisconsin (F&MCW) Transplant Service Line located in Milwaukee, WI. The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) works as a member of a multidisciplinary health care team who will contribute to excellence in program administration, patient care, patient safety, research, quality improvement, and teaching.Position Highlights:
Robust Entry to Practice Program Rotational schedule to cover 24/7 staffing needs (A combination of days and nights) Teaching opportunities 20 bed TICU and coverage of Transplant patients in the inpatient ward Multi-disciplinary practice inclusive of procedures Procedure for Candidacy To submit your application, please click on "Apply Now." Previous experience working within Transplant Surgery is preferredMinimum Education:
Advanced Practice Nurse:
Master's Degree or higher in Nursing from a nationally accredited organization. Acute care nurse practitioner preferred. Will consider FNP or adult care with 2 or more years' experience on Inpatient service or ICU.Physician Assistant:
Bachelor's Degree or higher in Physician Assistant Studies from an ARC-PA-accredited organization.Minimum Requirements:
Advanced Practice Nurse/ Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner Wisconsin RN License Wisconsin Advanced Practice Nurse Prescriber License Certification Requirements:
American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) required within 6 months of start date DEA registration Nurse Practitioner Certification from a nationally accredited professional nursing organization Acute care nurse practitioner preferred. Will consider FNP or adult care with 2 or more years' experience on Inpatient service or ICU. Physician Assistant Wisconsin Physician Assistant License Certification by National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)Certification Requirements:
