Nursing Assistant Job Description Job Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Nursing Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide essential support to patients in various settings, including hospitals, nursing homes, and home community care. This role requires a commitment to delivering high-quality care while ensuring the comfort and safety of patients. Candidates with experience in specialized areas such as hospice care, dementia care, or critical care environments are encouraged to apply. Duties Assist patients with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and feeding. Monitor and record vital signs such as temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration. Provide support in medical-surgical settings and assist with patient mobility. Help maintain a clean and safe environment for patients by adhering to infection control protocols. Document patient information accurately using electronic health record systems like Cerner or Epic. Collaborate with nursing staff to implement patient care plans effectively. Assist in the administration of medications under the supervision of licensed nursing staff. Provide emotional support and companionship to patients and their families during challenging times. Participate in training sessions for Basic Life Support (BLS) and other required certifications. Requirements Certification as a Nursing Assistant or equivalent experience in healthcare settings. Experience with DME (Durable Medical Equipment) is preferred but not mandatory. Familiarity with electronic health records systems such as Cerner or Epic is a plus. Previous experience in hospice care, dementia care, ICU, or PICU is highly desirable. Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
