Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) ON-CALL Chaparral House - 4.2 Berkeley, CA Job Details PRN From $24.50 an hour 2 hours ago Benefits Paid training Qualifications Anatomy knowledge Vital signs HIPAA Patient interaction CNA Medical terminology Bathing assistance Full Job Description Job Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), who will be able to work at least 3 days in a week to join our healthcare team for the PM shift. This role provides vital support in delivering high-quality patient care across various settings, including long-term care, assisted living, hospitals, and post-acute facilities. The ideal candidate will have experience working with diverse patient populations, including seniors, individuals with developmental disabilities, and those requiring specialized memory or dementia care. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in patients' lives while working in a dynamic healthcare environment that values professionalism and excellence. Duties Assist patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment like Hoyer lifts when necessary Monitor and record vital signs accurately using EMR/EHR systems and ensure proper documentation of patient care activities Support medication administration under supervision, adhering to HIPAA regulations and aseptic techniques Provide specialized care for patients with Alzheimer's, dementia, or memory impairments, ensuring safety and comfort Assist with catheter care, wound care, and other medical procedures as directed by nursing staff Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams in acute care, ICU, emergency medicine, or behavioral health settings to meet patient needs Maintain infection control standards and ensure a safe environment for patients and staff Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare providers to promote understanding and comfort Qualifications Valid CNA certification with current licensure in the state of practice Experience working in various healthcare settings such as hospitals (including Level I Trauma Centers), nursing homes, assisted living facilities, or home & community care environments Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as Cerner or eClinicalWorks preferred Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and infection control practices including aseptic technique Ability to work effectively with diverse populations including pediatrics, geriatrics, behavioral health patients, and individuals with disabilities or developmental challenges Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team Flexibility to work PM shifts with availability for additional hours if needed Commitment to patient safety and confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations This role is integral to providing compassionate patient-centered care across multiple healthcare environments.
