Hourly Pay:
$22-$25/hr Position Overview We are seeking dedicated and compassionate Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) to support patient care at the VA Palo Alto Healthcare System. In this role, you will provide direct patient care in inpatient units, outpatient clinics, and community living centers while working as part of an interdisciplinary healthcare team. Shift & Schedule Details The facility operates 24/7 8-hour shifts (no on-call required) Shift 3:30 PM - 12:00 AM No scheduled overtime or on-call requirements
Minimum Qualifications Experience:
Minimum 2 years of recent CNA experience
Certification:
Active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification (any U.S. state) Basic Life Support (BLS)
Skills:
Strong clinical and patient care skills, ability to work in inpatient and outpatient settings, proficiency in communication and documentation
Additional Requirements:
Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently, must maintain current certifications and training requirements, and must meet all VA health, immunization, and compliance standards Key Responsibilities Provide direct patient care, including hygiene, mobility, and daily living assistance Monitor and report patient conditions to nursing staff Assist with implementing patient care plans Support patient, family, and care team communication Maintain accurate documentation in electronic health records Participate in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives Work Environment VA hospital and clinical care settings Collaborative healthcare team environment Fast-paced, patient-focused care delivery Approximately 90% direct patient care responsibilities Why Join Us?
