The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to supporting individuals' health and well-being, demonstrating excellent communication skills, and maintaining a respectful, empathetic approach. This role involves assisting with daily activities, monitoring health status, and ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for those in need of care. The position offers an opportunity to work in diverse environments such as hospitals, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, or home care settings, contributing significantly to the quality of life for patients and residents. Responsibilities Assist patients and residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, mobility, and toileting. Monitor vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates accurately and report any abnormalities to healthcare professionals. Support medication administration under supervision, ensuring proper documentation in electronic health record (EHR) systems. Provide emotional support and companionship to promote mental well-being and reduce feelings of isolation. Follow infection control protocols including aseptic techniques and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Assist with specialized care needs such as Alzheimer's care, dementia care, memory care, or behavioral health support. Operate medical equipment like Hoyer lifts or other assistive devices safely to prevent injury. Document patient interactions thoroughly in medical records while maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including physicians, nurses, therapists, and social workers to deliver comprehensive care. Maintain a clean and safe environment by adhering to sanitation standards and safety guidelines across all settings. Skills Must have experience with ventilator ( trilogy) Proven experience working with diverse populations including long-term care residents, pediatric patients, or individuals with disabilities. Familiarity with EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Cerner or eClinicalWorks for accurate documentation. Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and vital signs measurement techniques. Experience in various healthcare environments including hospitals (ICU, trauma centers), nursing homes, assisted living facilities, outpatient clinics, or home care settings. Ability to perform phlebotomy or catheter care is advantageous but not mandatory. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients of all ages and backgrounds. Understanding of HIPAA compliance to ensure patient confidentiality at all times. Capable of handling emergency situations calmly using basic life support (BLS) skills when necessary. Experience working with specialized populations such as those requiring hospice or infectious disease care is preferred.
