Job Description

Resident Care Assisting Aide
  • Must be available to work weekends and holidays
  • Second shift 5p-11p and third shift 11p-7a available

Description:
Provides assistance with activities of daily living including but not limited to bathing, eating, dressing, and toileting.
Status:
Non-exempt; hourly
Supervisor:
RN Supervisor Essential Functions
  • Provide assistance with activities of daily living as needed, in a respectful manner that supports the residents' rights and dignity.
  • Prepare and serve juice/snacks; deliver meal trays to residents who are unable to eat in the dining room. Ensure that water pitchers are full on all three floors.
  • Check on residents often during shift and assist as needed; observe for changes in physical condition and behavior and report to the Resident Care Head Aide.
  • Respond to resident calls for assistance.
  • Make beds, change linens.
  • Assist residents with bathing. Other Duties and Responsibilities
  • Respond to emergencies and disasters including but not limited to fires, floods, and power outages in a calm and appropriate manner.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities, as required, to support our mission of providing, "to self-sufficient women over the age of 60, a residence that is safe and nurturing in a family-like atmosphere".
  • Attends in-services and trainings as requested.
  • Complies with the resident's Bill of Rights.
  • Maintains residents' confidentiality and respects privacy; treats residents with dignity and respect at all times. Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Demonstrates sound judgement in making decisions, prioritizing tasks and solving issues.
  • Presents a friendly, caring image with residents, families and guests.
  • May be required to work weekends, holidays, or evenings. Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED and minimum of one year's experience in the care of the elderly is preferred /or completion and certification as a Certified nursing Assistant (CNA)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and habits, ability to multitask.
  • Must speak and understand English; must be able to hear and respond to pages.
