Whether working in long-term care facilities, hospitals, assisted living communities, or providing home and community care, you will support patients' physical and emotional well-being through attentive caregiving and clinical assistance. Duties Assist patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, mobility, and feeding to ensure comfort and dignity. Monitor vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature; accurately document findings using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) or EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems. Support medication administration under supervision or as permitted by certification, ensuring proper handling and documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Provide specialized care for individuals with dementia or Alzheimer's disease, including memory care techniques and behavioral health management strategies. Operate medical equipment such as Hoyer lifts for safe patient transfers and perform catheter care or wound dressing changes following aseptic techniques. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams in acute care, ICU (Intensive Care Unit), emergency medicine, or post-acute settings to deliver comprehensive patient service. Assist with phlebotomy procedures and basic laboratory tasks when trained; support infection control protocols especially in infectious disease or Level I Trauma Center environments. Support patients' physiological needs by understanding anatomy and physiology principles; ensure safety during activities involving the use of assistive devices like Hoyer lifts or wheelchairs. Requirements Valid CNA certification or HHA certification with current state licensure. Experience working in diverse healthcare environments such as hospitals (including ICU or trauma centers), nursing homes, assisted living facilities, or home care settings. Knowledge of medical terminology, vital signs measurement, medication administration procedures, and medical documentation standards. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, eClinicalWorks or similar platforms for accurate record keeping. Ability to work effectively with individuals with disabilities, developmental delays, behavioral health needs, or chronic conditions like dementia or Alzheimer's disease. Strong communication skills combined with a compassionate approach to patient-centered care; ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and assist with patient transfers using equipment like Hoyer lifts; willingness to follow aseptic techniques and infection control protocols diligently.
