Duties Assist patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment like Hoyer lifts when necessary. Monitor and record vital signs accurately, including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates, ensuring proper documentation within electronic health record (EHR) systems. Support medication administration under supervision in accordance with HIPAA regulations and facility policies. Provide compassionate care tailored to residents with dementia, Alzheimer's disease, or other memory impairments, ensuring a safe and supportive environment. Assist with medical procedures such as catheter care or phlebotomy as trained and authorized. Maintain aseptic techniques during patient interactions to prevent infection transmission in high-acuity settings such as ICU or Level I Trauma Centers. Collaborate with nursing staff and interdisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive patient-centered care across inpatient and outpatient units. Ensure compliance with all safety protocols including proper use of PPE and infection control measures in infectious disease or acute care environments. Skills Proven experience working as a CNA in diverse healthcare settings including hospitals, nursing homes, or outpatient clinics. Familiarity with EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Cerner or eClinicalWorks for accurate medical documentation. Knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and vital signs measurement techniques essential for quality patient care. Experience supporting patients with complex needs such as dementia care, behavioral health challenges, or post-acute recovery processes. Ability to operate assistive devices like Hoyer lifts safely and effectively while adhering to aseptic techniques. Strong communication skills for effective interaction with patients of all ages—including pediatrics—and multidisciplinary teams. Understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality and privacy of patient information at all times. Demonstrated caregiving skills with a focus on geriatrics, home & community care experience, or working within Level II trauma centers or teaching hospitals is advantageous.
