Responsibilities Assist patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, feeding, and mobility using appropriate techniques and equipment like Hoyer lifts. Monitor vital signs and observe patient conditions, accurately documenting findings in electronic health records (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner. Support medical procedures by preparing patients, maintaining aseptic techniques, and assisting healthcare professionals during treatments or examinations. Provide specialized care for individuals with complex needs including Alzheimer's disease, dementia, behavioral health challenges, or developmental disabilities. Administer medications following strict protocols and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams in various settings such as hospitals (including ICU and trauma centers), outpatient clinics, hospice, or home care environments to deliver comprehensive patient service. Utilize equipment like Hoyer lifts and ensure safe transfer techniques to prevent injury for both patients and staff. Skills Proven experience working with diverse patient populations including seniors, pediatrics, or individuals with disabilities across settings like assisted living, nursing homes, or acute hospitals. Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and infection control practices including aseptic technique. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, eClinicalWorks or similar platforms for accurate medical documentation. Ability to perform phlebotomy procedures and manage catheter care when required. Experience in critical care areas such as ICU or Level I Trauma Centers is highly desirable. Competence in handling emergency situations using basic life support (BLS) skills and emergency medicine protocols. Excellent caregiving skills combined with a compassionate attitude toward patients experiencing memory loss or behavioral health issues.
