Certified Nursing Assistant

Responsibilities Assist patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility to promote independence and dignity. Monitor and record vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates accurately using electronic health record (EHR) systems. Support clinical procedures such as catheter care, wound dressing changes, and specimen collection like phlebotomy when trained and authorized. Collaborate with nursing staff to ensure proper medication administration and adherence to treatment plans. Maintain a safe environment by utilizing equipment like Hoyer lifts and adhering to aseptic techniques during patient care activities. Document patient interactions thoroughly in medical records while respecting HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality. Engage with patients experiencing complex conditions such as dementia or Alzheimer's disease, providing specialized memory care and behavioral health support. Qualifications Valid certification as a Nursing Assistant (CNA) from an accredited program. Prior experience working in long-term care facilities, hospitals, assisted living communities, or nursing homes is highly preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and infection control practices including aseptic technique. Experience with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks for accurate documentation. Ability to work effectively with diverse populations including pediatrics, geriatrics, individuals with disabilities or developmental delays. Strong communication skills coupled with a compassionate approach to patient service.
