Duties Assist patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility using equipment like Hoyer lifts and other assistive devices. Monitor vital signs, record medical information accurately in electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner, and report changes to nursing staff promptly. Support medication administration under supervision, ensuring proper documentation and adherence to HIPAA regulations. Provide specialized care for patients with dementia or Alzheimer's disease, including memory care techniques and behavioral health support. Maintain aseptic techniques during procedures like catheter care and phlebotomy, ensuring infection control standards are met consistently. Assist in emergency situations within Level I Trauma Centers or ICU environments by supporting critical care protocols and patient stabilization efforts. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in settings such as pediatric units (PICU), geriatrics, or hospice care to deliver comprehensive patient-centered services. Qualifications Valid CNA certification with current licensure in the state of employment. Proven experience working in diverse healthcare environments including hospitals, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, or home & community care settings. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks for accurate medical documentation. Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and infection control practices including aseptic technique. Experience providing specialized care for individuals with developmental disabilities or behavioral health needs is preferred. Ability to perform physically demanding tasks such as lifting patients with Hoyer lifts and assisting with mobility aids. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages—including pediatrics—and collaborate with healthcare teams.
