Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to provide essential support to individuals in need of assistance with daily living activities. The ideal candidate will have experience in caregiving, particularly within personal care homes or group home settings, and will be committed to enhancing the quality of life for those with developmental disabilities. This role requires a nurturing approach, strong communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with individuals requiring behavior management. Duties Assist clients with personal care tasks, including bathing, grooming, and dressing. Administer medication as prescribed and monitor clients for any side effects or changes in condition. Support clients in daily living activities such as meal preparation, housekeeping, and laundry. Provide companionship and engage clients in social activities to promote mental well-being. Implement behavior management strategies as needed to ensure a safe and supportive environment. Drive clients to appointments or community activities as required. Maintain accurate records of client care and report any changes in health or behavior to the supervising staff. Qualifications Previous experience in caregiving or personal care home settings is preferred. Knowledge of medication administration protocols is a plus. Familiarity with behavior management techniques and working with individuals with developmental disabilities is desirable. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and their families. Ability to perform cleaning tasks and maintain a tidy living environment for clients. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for driving clients as needed. Compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others improve their quality of life.
