Job Description
I. Job Summary Collaborates with other professional disciplines to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery and the achievement of desired patient outcomes. Utilizes knowledge of patient's age and cultural diversity into the provision of patient care. Contributes to the provision of quality care through performance improvement techniques that demonstrate positive outcomes in patient care. Employee authorization for access to EPHI is determined by job function and is under the direction of his/her Department Director or Nurse Manager. II. Duties And Responsibilities The C.N.A. assists in-patient care throughout nursing areas, and is responsible for the safe transport of patients via wheelchair or stretcher, dispatch services and appropriate documentation of services. Provides the services of an Observer for any patient on a patient care unit who has been assessed to require constant observations in order to maximize his/her safety. Perf0rms general receptionist and clerical duties in order to facilitate efficient functioning of the nursing unit. III. Education High school graduate or GED completion Completion of Certified Nursing Assistant course required IV. Qualifications And Experience Must have knowledge of principles of patient hygiene, comfort and safety measures Handle a multitude of tasks at one time; prioritizes them appropriately Interact effectively with people who have widely differing backgrounds Demonstrates exceptional work initiative, dependability and effort Maintain a professional relationship with all members of hospital staff Required to pass competencies for this position V.
