About the
Role:
The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) - PRN position plays a critical role in delivering compassionate and high-quality care to patients across various healthcare settings in the United States. This role involves providing essential support to nursing staff by assisting patients with daily living activities, monitoring their health status, and ensuring their comfort and safety. The CNA will work on an as-needed basis, offering flexibility while maintaining consistent standards of care. By effectively communicating with patients, families, and healthcare team members, the CNA helps to create a supportive and healing environment. Ultimately, this position contributes significantly to the overall patient experience and the efficient operation of healthcare facilities.Minimum Qualifications:
Current and valid CNA certification in the State of Georgia. Basic life support (BLS) certification or willingness to obtain upon hire. Ability to pass a background check and drug screening as required by the employer. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with patients and healthcare team members.Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience working as a CNA in a hospital, long-term care, or outpatient setting. Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems. Experience working with diverse patient populations, including elderly and disabled individuals. Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.Responsibilities:
Assist patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and feeding. Monitor and record patients' vital signs, including temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure, and report any changes to nursing staff. Provide mobility assistance, including helping patients move safely within the facility and repositioning bedridden patients to prevent pressure ulcers. Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for patients by following infection control protocols and facility guidelines. Support nursing staff with routine clinical tasks and documentation to ensure accurate patient records and continuity of care.Skills:
The CNA uses strong interpersonal and communication skills daily to build trust and rapport with patients, ensuring their needs and concerns are understood and addressed. Attention to detail is critical when monitoring vital signs and documenting patient information accurately to support clinical decision-making. Physical stamina and dexterity are essential for assisting patients with mobility and personal care tasks safely. Time management skills enable the CNA to prioritize duties effectively during shifts, especially when working PRN with variable hours. Familiarity with healthcare protocols and teamwork skills facilitate seamless collaboration with nurses and other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive patient care. Your Calling.
