Join the Cancer Institute as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) supporting patients in an outpatient chemotherapy infusion setting. In this role, you'll help manage patient flow, assist with clinical processes, and contribute to a safe, welcoming environment. This fast-paced oncology setting serves approximately 18-20 chemotherapy infusion patients daily, with up to 30 total patients per day. Occasional travel (about twice a year) to Boise or Nampa locations may be required. New graduates are encouraged to apply. Schedule 0.9 FTE, Day Shift 8-hour shifts General start times between 7:30 a.m. and 8:00 a.m. End times between 4:30 p.m. and 5:00 p.m.
Alternating schedule:
one week working 5 days and the following week working 4 days What You Can Expect Room patients for infusion visits, including obtaining height, weight, vital signs, screening questionnaires, and medication reconciliation Assist with patient intake and guide patients through the treatment process while providing compassionate, patient-centered care Clean and prepare infusion chairs and treatment rooms between patients to maintain clinic flow and cleanliness standards Maintain a well-stocked, organized, and safe clinical environment Perform phlebotomy procedures and collect patient specimens accurately while following safety protocols Cross-train to support lab functions and provide rooming support for Medical Oncology Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) Collaborate closely with providers, nurses, and interdisciplinary team members in a team-based care model
Position Opportunities:
Position 1 This role will primarily function as a float position within the Cancer Institute, supporting chemotherapy infusion services and rooming patients for Medical Oncology providers. Position 2 This role will focus more heavily on blood draws and phlebotomy support, with opportunities for cross-training throughout the department. Phlebotomy experience is preferred; however, training will be provided for the right candidate. Qualifications Current CNA certification or Nurse Apprentice Letter required Current CPR/BLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross required
