Job Description

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our healthcare team in a full-time capacity. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to patient care, demonstrate excellent communication skills, and have experience working in diverse clinical settings. This role offers an opportunity to provide vital support to patients across various care environments, including long-term care, acute care, and specialized units. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the comfort, safety, and well-being of our patients while adhering to all regulatory standards and best practices. Responsibilities Assist patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment like Hoyer lifts. Monitor and record vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates, accurately documenting all patient information within electronic health record (EHR) systems. Support medical staff with procedures such as catheter care, medication administration, phlebotomy, and aseptic techniques to ensure patient safety and comfort. Provide specialized care for patients with conditions such as Alzheimer's disease, dementia, or memory impairments in memory or behavioral health units. Assist in patient transfers and positioning within inpatient and outpatient settings while maintaining proper body mechanics and safety protocols. Maintain infection control standards by practicing proper hand hygiene, using personal protective equipment (PPE), and following facility-specific protocols for infectious disease care. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams in various environments including hospitals (Level I Trauma Center experience preferred), nursing homes, assisted living facilities, or home & community care settings to deliver comprehensive patient service. Support patients with developmental disabilities or behavioral health needs by providing attentive caregiving tailored to individual requirements. Qualifications Valid CNA certification with current licensure in the applicable state or region. Experience working in diverse healthcare settings such as hospitals (including ICU or emergency medicine), nursing homes, assisted living facilities, or outpatient clinics. Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and medical documentation practices. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Cerner or eClinicalWorks for accurate record keeping. Prior experience with critical care areas like ICU or Level II trauma centers is highly desirable. Competence in performing procedures such as vital signs measurement, catheter care, medication administration under supervision, and basic life support (BLS). Ability to work effectively with individuals of all ages including pediatrics and geriatrics while demonstrating empathy and professionalism. Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality at all times.
