Summary:
Provides direct care to residents, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being, while maintaining a clean and safe environment. Supports nurses and assists with resident care plans and assessments.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide daily direct care to residents, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and assisting with food consumption, transfers, and ambulation. Offer emotional support to residents, fostering trust and communication with them and their families. Monitor and report changes in resident conditions to the Charge Nurse. Assist with health needs by accurately measuring vital signs, intake/output, and food consumption. Document care and assist during treatments and medical procedures. Maintain safety and infection control practices. Respond promptly to call lights or alarms and report any safety concerns. Participate in care planning, implementation, and evaluation, communicating suggestions to the Charge Nurse. Perform administrative functions such as prioritizing tasks, attending meetings, reviewing policies, and completing required in-service education. Assist with quality assessments, surveys, and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED preferred; at least one year of related experience preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Successful completion of a nurse assistant training program and certification exam. EOE
